Super Bowl LIX With Our Family

"Laissez les bons temps rouler" this is our Cajun-French phrase that means "let the good times roll".

It's our popular expression in Louisiana we use when it’s turn-up time, especially for parties in New Orleans, we often used it during our Mardi Gras celebrations too.

Google these places and phrases because I don’t have time or space to explore and expound upon them in this segment (blog post) !

I’ve come to the realization of my corroberative family relationships and how much it’s affects have reduced stress and anxiety for us all, it has also promoted healthy behaviors, and encouraged us to seek help, aid and advice when needed. Y’all may call it corrective or constructive criticism!

We call it love, truth and transparency!

Mardi Gras Second Lining

Our Family plays a fundamental role in helping our overall experiences, shaped by providing support, identity, and a framework for our social interaction with one-another, which has proven to be beneficial, very vital and crucial for our personal development, growth and well-being collectively.

The Socioeconomic aspects of our family at its best, notwithstanding is “that our family performs various valuable functions for every single person interconnectedness within our family dynamics, separately and collectively as a wholesome group.

Perhaps most important of all, is that our connection provides for emotional and psychological security, particularly through the warmth, love, corrections, open rebukes, and companionship that spending time together generates between one another and in turn between them and the other family members, as I alluded to previously.

Our family also provides valuable social, emotional, mental, financial, spiritual, fundamental and political functions by institutionalizing procreation and by providing us guidelines for the healthy regulation of our behavioral conduct and “conversely”

our misconduct we’ve displayed throughout the years as well.

Our family additionally provides navigation and guidance for each other which are important and strategically beneficial for our combined functioning holistically, as our maneuvering’s galvanize the socialization of our children whom are engaged in every aspect of our livelihoods, along with our altruistic activities designed by us adults as caring for them “when the need arises”. Our children mimic what we do, “not as so much of” what we say!

Now don’t get me wrong, words matter too. Because our words create spirits & life or death, they frame our world around us.

But actions speaks louder than words (to our children) for sure.

On the economic side, our family provides food, shelter, clothing, and physical security for the members who are bearable and seeks the help. Some of whom may be too young or too old to provide for the basic necessities of life themselves. We know in reality that, “we cannot help everyone”, but the ones we can, WE DO!

Finally, on the social side, our family may serve to promote order and stability within our socialism as a whole. These are definitely traits and traditions passed down through generations from the elders of my (our) family dynamics and dealings, through the good, the bad and even the ugly

~ we are one!

Usually when one went to war, we all were in battle together!

Fighting for each other (right or wrong) baby!

When one of us fought, we all fought, point blank period!!!

“I quote Usually” LOL.

Every weekend we gathered together playing cards, Our Elder’s “Grandma Peaches, Auntie Pinky and the rest of our family members played their pools (numbers) every weekend,” we went to the casinos, holes-in-the wall (bar-rooms) Juke Joints they called them, Second-lines, Football & Baseball Games, Super Sunday’s, Concerts, Plays & Shows at the Singer Theatre & Municipal Auditorium & Treme Center, we traveled out-of-town every year or so to our family reunions (Carpooling) or flying by airplane, Every Sunday we all meet up by Grandma Peaches or Aunrie Pinky’s house ate dinner, frolicking, ribbing, sky locked, dressing in our Sundays best after attending Church, we argued, fussed, fought, made-up, laughed, cried, prayed, partied, or fellowship with one another every single day!

Weekends We Our Favorite Holiday’s Though!

To everyone else it was just a regular weekend, but to us it was a Holiday Weekend Baby!

You couldn’t tell us that we were not rich, while living in our marginalized and oppressed communities or neighborhoods honey!

We were privileged to have the chances and opportunities presented and provided to us in-spite of our struggles, sufferings or surroundings!

God I Thank You 🙏

Everyone was welcomed with open arms to our grandma house, she never turned anyone down or around at the door!

She even door-popped (with her lil 22 pistol in her pocket) watching out for us, when we were outside, hanging in front of her home doing wrong!

We called her our G-Pizzle!

Carnival Time In New Orleans Baby

She was everything for everyone & Auntie Pinky was her bodyguard, She was her Mother’s Child. These two little women were small in stature but large, courageous and determined in their spirit and heart!

They feared nothing and no one but God, they even wrestled with him from time to time “lol”.

Not a single soul played with them, they put the fear of death in you, and if you tried them that’s just where you would end up dead-as-a-door nob or in jail.

Or as they both would say “ they’ll find you stinking somewhere or pushing up daisies!

We were reared by someone wise woman of their time.

New Orleans we did what we do best and that’s put on a party for the ages for all NFL fans as the city successfully hosted Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Feb. 9 as the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs, 40-22, in the Caesars Superdome.

Super Bowl LIX marked the seventh Super Bowl appearance for the Chiefs, who won Super Bowls IV, LIV, LVII, and LVIII, while losing Super Bowls I and LV. They played in the Super Bowl four times in the past five seasons, winning three of them.

With events throughout the week leading up to the game, New Orleans showcased its unique culture, cuisine, and entertainment for more than 100,000 visitors in town.

"There's one thing with southern hospitality, there's another thing with New Orleans hospitality. They want to show you the best of. Some towns are like tourists get out of here, we don't want you. New Orleans, it's like 'Man, welcome, we are going to show you a good time, we are going to feed you well, we're going to entertain you well' and you are going to leave here saying 'Man, that place is special,'" legendary Saints quarterback Drew Brees said on 'The Pat McAfee Show.'

"I want to thank the people of New Orleans," said NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell at the press conference handing off Super Bowl LX to its host city San Francisco. "This game came at a perfect time for them. They lifted us up. Hopefully, we lifted them up and the world saw it. To see the culture & the strength of the people of New Orleans was really extraordinary."

With New Orleans hosting a record-tying 11th Super Bowl, Goodell indicated it will not be too long before they make it an even dozen.

"It was a great Super Bowl for us," Goodell said. "Eleven Super Bowls in the books here in New Orleans, and we look forward to Super Bowl (No.) 12 in New Orleans pretty soon."
